I am an ethnographer of work and organizations interested in the everyday challenges of public administration and political collective action. My research examines how people organize and work towards social change in complex or hostile environments. I have studied the efforts of unionized workers during a strike; activists using community organizing strategies in an electoral campaign; and the work of policy analysts and regulatory oversight officers in times of anti-bureaucracy and anti-establishment reforms.
