Salomé Lopes Coelho is an integrated researcher at the NOVA Institute of Communication, NOVA University Lisbon. From 2022 to 2025, she developed the postdoctoral project Rhuthmanalysis and Ecologies of the Moving Image at the same institute, focusing on contemporary experimental Latin American cinema (funded by FCT).
She holds a PhD in Artistic Studies—Art and Mediations from NOVA University of Lisbon, with the thesis Vital Rhythm and the Gesture of Crossing: Survivals of Ekstasis in Cinema (FCT Fellowship, 2021).
She was a visiting researcher at the National University of Arts in Buenos Aires (2016), where she also lectured on cinema, philosophy, and art (2018-2020).
She is a member of the Editorial Board of La Furia Umana – Journal of History and Theory of Cinema.
