Personal information

Pedro has a PhD in Anthropology from the ISCTE, Lisbon, with a thesis on Cultural Heritage and Vernacular Religion amongst homecoming migrants in Beira Baixa, Portugal. He is a visiting assistant professor at Universidade Nova de Lisboa and a researcher at the CRIA. Since 2022, he has been conducting a research project, “eSefarad: modalities and practices of digital patrimonialization of the Sephardic cultural legacy in Mediterranean contexts,” at CRIA-NOVA FCSH, focusing on the circulation and displacement of Arab-Berber-Jewish cultural heritage in the Mediterranean. This project, situated at the intersection of anthropology of displacement, material culture, and museum studies, emphasises the historical and socio-political processes entailed in the musealisation of artefacts of Jewish communities of the Maghreb in North Africa in France.
