Marta C. Corvo is an ASSISTANT RESEARCHER at Instituto de Nanoestruturas Nanomodelação e Nanofabricação (i3N) since 2022. Between 2018 and 2022 she was a Contract Researcher at i3N|Cenimat. MCC has published 43papers in WoS-indexed international journals (90% in Q1 for the last 5 years), being the first and/or corresponding author in 30% of those papers. She published two book chapters, has 1 patent, and has 24 oral communications in national and international meetings, including 7 invited talks. She participated in 4 international industry (PETROBRAS) funded projects, 3 National projects as a team member, and 1 National project as NOVA-FCT team coordinator (CleanART). She was the PI of 1 national project (GREENPILs4CO2 2018-22) and contributes to another ongoing National project (NEURITES). Her h-index in GOOGLE SCHOLAR is 17 (15 in SCOPUS). She successfully supervised 1 postdoc, 1 PhD, 14 MSc, 5 BSc, and 4 BI fellowships. Currently supervising 4 PhD and 2 MSc. She is currently a member of COST action 18125 (Aerogels). She collaborates with several international institutions, namely, UFRGS, PUCRS, Universidad de SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA, Universidad Jaume I, PETROBRAS, and several national institutions, namely UCIBIO@ FCT NOVA, LAQV-REQUIMTE@ FCT NOVA & FCUP, IST-C2TN, CICS-UBI, UAlg. She participates in graduate and post-graduate courses as an NMR lecturer and is actively involved in science outreach activities, organizing workshops for children and high school students and teachers. Member of the reviewer board of the International Journal of Molecular Sciences and active reviewer for several journals from Royal Society of Chemistry, Elsevier, and American Chemical Society. Guest editor in a special issue of International Journal of Molecular Sciences and a Research Topic of Frontiers in Biomaterials Science. In her professional activities interacted with 131 collaborators through the co-authorship of scientific papers and received 6 awards and distinctions. Marta C. Corvo has several ongoing collaborations being responsible for NMR studies in solid-state, solution, and HRMAS of polymers and composites and also for the conceptualization and studies in ionic liquid and ion gel-related materials.
RESEARCH INTERESTS: Marta's initial domain of specialization was organic chemistry with a special focus on asymmetric synthesis. Over the past decade, she focused on NMR. Her present research interests include ionic liquid-derived materials and the development of NMR protocols to study molecular interactions (including diffusion, relaxation, NOE), and CO2 capture, High-pressure NMR, solid state NMR, and MRI. She has been working in solvation behavior in Ionic Liquids, Ionic liquid gel materials and porous ionic liquid derived materials for CO2 capture, Art Conservation, and Energy.
