Marta C. Corvo has been working as a PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR at Instituto de Nanoestruturas Nanomodelação e Nanofabricação (i3N) since 2024. Between 2022 and 2024, she was an auxiliary investigator, and between 2018 and 2022, she was a contract researcher at i3N|Cenimat. MCC has published 54 papers in WoS-indexed international journals, with 90% in Q1 for the last five years. She was the first and/or corresponding author in 30% of these papers. In addition, she has published two book chapters, holds one patent, and has presented 31 oral communications in national and international meetings, including eight invited talks. MCC participated in four international industry-funded projects (PETROBRAS), four National projects as a team member, and one National project as NOVA-FCT team coordinator (CleanART 2016-19). She was the PI of one National project (GREENPILs4CO2 2018-22) and is currently contributing to another ongoing National project (ACHIEVE). MCC's h-index in Google Scholar is 20 (17 in Scopus). She has successfully supervised one postdoc, three PhD, 20 MSc, six BSc, and four BI fellowships. She is currently supervising 2 PhD and 4 MSc students. MCC is also a member of COST action 18125 (Aerogels) and collaborates with several national and international institutions, including UFRGS, PUCRS, Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, Universidad Jaume I, University of Athens, PETROBRAS, UCIBIO@FCT NOVA, LAQV-REQUIMTE@FCT NOVA & FCUP, IST-C2TN, CICS-UBI, and UAlg. She participates in graduate and post-graduate courses as an NMR lecturer and is actively involved in science outreach activities, organizing workshops for children, high school students, and teachers. She is a member of the International Journal of Molecular Sciences reviewer board and actively reviews several journals from the Royal Society of Chemistry, Elsevier, and American Chemical Society. She was a guest editor in a special International Journal of Molecular Sciences issue. MCC has collaborated with 152 researchers through co-authorship of scientific papers and has received six awards and distinctions. Her ongoing collaborations focus on NMR studies in solid-state, solution, and HRMAS of polymers and composites. She is also responsible for conceptualizing and studying ionic liquid and ion gel-related materials. Her RESEARCH interests include ionic liquid-derived materials, the development of NMR protocols to study molecular interactions (including diffusion, relaxation, and NOE), CO2 capture, high-pressure NMR, solid-state NMR, and MRI. She has been working on solvation behaviour in Ionic Liquids, Ionic liquid gel materials, and porous ionic liquid-derived materials for CO2 capture, art conservation, energy, and tissue engineering.
