Research interests

Manuel F.S. Patrocinio: currently Professor at the University of Évora (History Department), has as main scientific interests the study of Ancient Arts and Cultures and of the Oriental Civilizations. Main published results started with researches on ancient religious artefacts and collections to more recent investigations on the Classical legacy in Modern architecture, namely regarding the use of classic principles and persistance of the order use. More recent attentions have been given to ancient cultural contexts at the origin of monumental sites in Asia around the 4th-8th Centuries CE.
