LUÍS M. SANTOS é doutorando em Ciências Musicais Históricas na NOVA FCSH, tendo usufruído de uma Bolsa de Doutoramento concedida pela FCT. A sua dissertação, orientada por Paulo Ferreira de Castro, debruça-se sobre a música sinfónica em Lisboa no período entre 1910 e 1933. Realizou o Curso de Piano no Conservatório Nacional (2006), e na NOVA FCSH obteve a Licenciatura em Ciências Musicais (2007), bem como o Mestrado em Musicologia Histórica (2010). Desde 2007, é investigador Colaborador do CESEM (NOVA FCSH), no âmbito do qual foi Bolseiro de Investigação (2007-2010), integrando actualmente o Grupo de Investigação em Teoria Crítica e Comunicação. Foi distinguido com o Prémio Joaquim de Vasconcelos 2016 pela SPIM. Colabora regularmente, desde 2010, com a Casa da Música, o Teatro Nacional de S. Carlos e a Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian na redacção de textos musicológicos. Desde 2013, tem colaborado também enquanto docente convidado com o Departamento de Ciências Musicais da NOVA FCSH.

LUÍS M. SANTOS is a Ph.D. Candidate in Musicology at the NOVA FCSH, having been awarded a Doctoral Grant by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology. His research, supervised by Paulo Ferreira de Castro, is focused on symphonic music in Lisbon during the period 1910-1933. He studied at the National Conservatory of Lisbon, having concluded the Piano Course (2006). At the NOVA FCSH he graduated in Musicology (2007) and obtained the Master of Arts degree in Historical Musicology (2010). Since 2007, he is a Collaborator at the CESEM | Research Centre for the Sociology and Aesthetics of Music (NOVA FCSH), where he was a “Research Fellow” (2007-2010), and currently is a member of the Research Group in Critical Theory and Communication. He was distinguished with the Joaquim de Vasconcelos Award 2016 by the SPIM | Portuguese Society for Music Research. Since 2010, he has collaborated regularly with the Casa da Música, the São Carlos National Theater and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in the writing of musicological texts. Since 2013, he has also collaborated as a guest lecturer with the Department of Musicology at the NOVA FCSH.
