Professional Summary

PhD Candidate in Law at NOVA School of Law (Universidade NOVA de Lisboa). My research develops a practical methodology to implement Part II of the BBNJ Agreement (Marine Genetic Resources, incl. DSI) through Part V (Capacity-building & Transfer of Marine Technology), focusing on equitable access for LDCs and the removal of IP barriers.
Since 2019, I have participated in the intergovernmental negotiations of the BBNJ Agreement as an advisor to the Brazilian delegation and I take part in the sessions of the Preparatory Committee for the Agreement’s operationalization. Currently Visiting Researcher at the Nippon Foundation Ocean Voices Programme, University of Edinburgh. Bridge-builder across law, science and policy, committed to Global South perspectives.
