Personal profile

Personal information

I am a Ph.D. student in early modern history at CHAM/Universidade Nova de Lisboa, supported by an FCT doctoral scholarship. I am a member of two projects: the MSCA-RISE project "Resistance and Rebellion in the Iberian Empires, 16th-19th centuries," and the project "EDGES: Entangling Indigenous Knowledges in Universities".

My Ph.D. research delves into the interaction of enslaved individuals, freedmen, and the indigenous population within the judicial system. By focusing on their resistance against slavery and forced labor, I examine how these groups shaped legal culture in 18th-century São Paulo.
