Personal profile

Personal information

I am a Research Fellow in Science and Imperialism at the Interuniversity Center for the History of Science and Technology (CIUHCT). I am interested in analyzing how science and diplomacy were mobilized in the colonization of Africa by the Portuguese, especially during the Scramble for Africa, and how colonial endeavors were supported by racist ideologies. I am also interested in the power of storytelling to communicate complex historical knowledge in science education and the performing arts.
