Research interests

Research (since 2000): XXth-century Portuguese poets such as Fernando Pessoa, António Gedeão, and Jorge de Sena; also, Franz Kafka, Ricardo Jorge (XIXth-century Portuguese epidemiologist and writer), Aby Warburg, the conceptual artist Lee Mingwei, as well as on aspects of bioart. 3) The writing of poetry: increasingly since birth (the ostensible illogicality of this affirmation is deliberate). Titles published to date: Live from Earth and A Small Atlas of Earth: In Recollection of Legacies and Patterns of Growth SpecialtiesThemes relating to Post-Enlightenment culture as it can be seen in XXth-century literature, especially poetry. Translations (from Port/Eng and Eng/Port); publishing my own poetry for the past several years; giving narrative amplitude to discipline-specific training; conceptual search for a poetic and narrative anthropology that questions the inhuman web which sustains us in liquid simulacra of freedom; a maieutic approach, in the classroom, to the hypnotic immediacy of the real.
