Personal information

Carlos Ceia is Full Professor of English Studies at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, NOVA University of Lisbon – Portugal. He is currently member of the NOVA FCSH Scientific Council and one of its vice-presidents. He currently holds of The International Council for Philosophy and Humanistic Studies (CIPSH) Chair on Digital Humanities in Education (2020-25). He holds a PhD in Hispanic Studies from Cardiff University and has been teaching at NOVA University since 1993. He is founder and head of the Language Institute of the NOVA University of Lisbon (ILNOVA). Since 2014, he is the director of the Centre for English, Translation and Anglo-Portuguese Studies (CETAPS), where he coordinates the research area on Translation, Teacher Education and Applied Language Studies – TEALS. He coordinates the PhD in Languages Teaching and the PhD in Education. He teaches in different areas from English Contemporary Literature and Literary Theory to Teacher Education.
