Carla Valério is a PhD candidate at NOVA School of Law and a researcher at CEDIS and NOVA Tax Research Lab, and EU Direct Tax Associate at the IBFD.
She graduated cum laude at the Advanced LLM in International Tax Law from the University of Amsterdam and IBFD, and her thesis was awarded with the IBFD European Taxation Journal Prize.
She holds a degree in Law, a masters in Business Law and a postgraduate degree in Corporate Tax Law from the Faculty of Law of Coimbra University.
She practiced as a lawyer in Portugal. In Timor-Leste, where she has lived for several years, she was a guest lecturer at the National University of Timor Lorosa’e, a legal advisor for Government and a legal consultant for several public and private entities.
