Personal information

PhD student in Musicology at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the NOVA University of Lisbon. Holds a FCT PhD Scholarship (SFRH/BD/145674/2019) and earned a master with a dissertation on cyberpunk music in audiovisual media. He is a member of several research clusters integrated in the Group of Critical Theory and Communication in the Centre for the Study of the Sociology and Aesthetics of Music. His work spans the fields of musicology, sociology, science and technology, digital cultures, media studies and gender and queer studies with a focus on issues of cybercommunities, communication, reception studies, and identity. He is broadly interested in music as a social technology; relations between music and other media and performance arts; and in concepts of taste, identity, technoculture, and representation. Co-editor of the book Log in, live on: música e cibercultura na era da Internet das coisas (Húmus, 2018) and Convergências Musicais: Gosto, Identidade, Mundo (Húmus, 2022), author of several articles, chapters and music reviews. In the performance arts is a producer and composer of solo works and contributed to a photographic exhibition and the theatrical piece Vórtice.
