Research interests

Microbiology and Molecular Genetics of Gram-positive bacteria. Research interests have been addressed to the understanding the regulatory networks on cell wall physiology in the methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), that possess one of the most effective resistance mechanisms to all beta-lactam antibiotics, namely in: cell wall turnover/recycling; cell wall synthesis and division and the global cell response to the environmental stress.
