Personal profile

Personal information

I am a lexicographer, and I am currently coordinating the new digital Portuguese-language dictionary to be published with the seal of the Academia das Ciências de Lisboa (ACL) and represent my institution at ELEXIS. I have worked as a lexicographer at Porto Editora, a Portuguese publishing house, for eighteen years. My primary professional experience involves carrying out important projects on the topic of Portuguese lexicographic references. Having earned a solid know-how from my intense daily lexicographic work, I was motivated to further my knowledge of lexicography, terminology, and digital humanities in general to improve my skills and help me rethink the theoretical and methodological assumptions of the Portuguese lexicographic tradition.

I am a doctoral candidate in the field of Terminology at NOVA FCSH and am carrying out my doctoral research under the guidance of Rute Costa and Toma Tasovac. My current PhD project focuses on the treatment of terms in general language dictionaries. The aim of my project is to incorporate both lexicographic and terminological methodologies to design the macrostructure and microstructure of monolingual dictionaries in a way that will improve the quality and interoperability of lexical databases.

My research interests include Lexicography, Terminology, and data modelling carried out according to the TEI Guidelines.

I have been a member of the ACL Academy since 2015, in recognition of the lexicographical work developed at the national level.
