Ana Rovisco is assistant researcher at CENIMAT, FCT-NOVA, leading the scanning electron microscopy research and services of the center.
She completed the PhD in Nanotechnologies and Nanosciences in December 2019 by NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT-NOVA), NOVA University Lisbon (at Department of Materials Science and i3N/CENIMAT) and the Integrated Master in Physics Engineering in December 2012 by the same University (at Department of Physics).
She is researcher since 2013 at CENIMAT and since 2014 she is also lab assistant of several (>6) courses related with nanofabrication and materials characterization in the same university.
She published 17 articles in peer-reviewed international journals, 3 book chapter and 2 conference paper (h-index=12, >500 citations, as May 2024 - Google Scholar). She is currently member of the Topical Advisory Panel on Chemosensors, MDPI (where she is Editor of a Topical Collection) and Electronic Materials (MDPI), and Guest Editor of a shared Special Issue between Electronic Materials and Materials. Currently, she is also Editor of a book in IntechOpen. She reviewed papers for >20 international journals, such as ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, ACS Applied Nano Materials and Journal of Materials Chemistry C. She has more than 65 communications in national and international conferences and seminars, and won 2 Nano Today cover competitions and an award of 2nd place in the Science as Art Competition, 2018 MRS Fall Meeting.
She supervised 6 MSc (1 ongoing) and 6 BSc students (3 ongoing) and served as an examiner of 2 BSc students and 4 MSc students. Participates and/or participated as researcher in 16 international and national projects, being part of the coordination team of the ongoing EMERGE European project.
Currently, the main focus of her work is nanofabrication and nanocharacterization based on scanning electron microscopy (SEM, EDS, EBL, EBIC) and application (eg: FETs, energy harvesters, sensing and photocatalysis) of solution based oxide nanostructures.
