A. Cueto Rodríguez

Adolfo Cueto Rodríguez is doctorate in History from Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) (2020), where he defended his thesis, titled: "La política colonial de Portugal del Salazarismo al Marcelismo: origen y destino de un ejercicio de resistencia (1930-1974)." Graduate in History from the University of Oviedo. Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) in History of International Relations from the Complutense University of Madrid. Between 2012 and 2020 he was a researcher at the Instituto de História Contemporânea of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He is currently part of the research core: "História, Território e Comunidades", belonging to the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (NOVA-FCSH). Since 2017 he has been part of the research team of the project "Policia de Segurança Pública: História e Património", of the NOVA-FCSH. Since 2020, he has also been developing a postdoctoral research project at NOVA-FCSH, under the title: "A Polícia de Segurança Pública durante o Estado Novo: entre el dever de manter a ordem e o direito à segurança (1933-1974)." A specialist in colonial history and portuguese decolonization, he has published a book and various scientific articles in specialized magazines on issues related to this topic. He is also co-author of three works on Police History and has published some articles on the same subjects. His preferred areas of research are: Colonialism, Decolonization; Portuguese Empire; colonial politics; Colonial War; Estado Novo; Public order, and police systems. Adolfo Cueto is currently a researcher hired "Maria Zambrano" and assistan professor in the Department of Contemporary History of the UNED.
