We create and transmit knowledge about the structures, practices and senses of the society in which we live; on societies, institutions and organizations; about groups and communities, solidarity and conflict.
We want to help shape conscious citizens and stakeholders, qualified professionals and creative researchers. Therefore, we teach to know, to apply and to investigate in Sociology, taking into account the demographic, ecological and geographical, historical, political and cultural dimensions of the social; as well as various scientific and professional applications - including optional internships and master's degrees.
Our students belong to the largest school of social and human sciences in the country. That is why we have opened the doors to the diversification of the formations. Depending on your interests, all courses in the Department of Sociology can carry out part of your studies in any of the other Faculty courses, other NOVA courses, or international mobility in our Erasmus partners.
In addition to the young public, who seek to prepare themselves for their active life and continue their studies, we also want to respond to the aspirations of the workers who wish to develop their knowledge, skills and qualifications. For this reason, we have also created offers in the after-work hours and we carefully credit our lifelong skills according to their adaptation to the different study cycles.
