Interactive Technologies Research Center (CITI)

The multimedia knowledge acquires at C.I.T.I. are based upon a cross between theoretical investigation, conceptual experience and application development. This line of R&D has led, since 1997, to the integration in several projects of international cooperation, namely to the creation in Portugal of the European Master Business Association in Multimedia and Audiovisuals, a Project undertaken in consortium with the University of Paris VIII and the University of Metz, in France, the Haute École St. Louis, in Brussels, the University of Athens, in Greece, and the University of Lapland, in Finland.

C.I.T.I., the Interactive Technologies Research Center, is an investigation unit of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas, created in 1991.

Following the guidelines for Public University’s Research Centers, C.I.T.I. follows applied investigation strategies, and training action in its field of action, and merges these with community service Works.

The development of 197 multimedia applications between 1993 and March/2017 placed C.I.T.I. as one of the better result yielding university institutions on this specific field of action. The numerous national and international prizes, as well as the active participation in European projects, are prestigious for the researchers of the Center and for Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
