The Philippine Embassy in Lisbon is pleased to share that our very own, Dr. Stephanie Marie R. Coo (Associate Professor, Department of History, Ateneo de Manila University; currently a researcher at CHAM NOVA-FCSH Universidade Nova de Lisboa), a respected Filipina historian and academic, is among the featured speakers at the Book Fair. She will be launching her latest work, “Seams of Sedition: Sartorial Symbols in José Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere”, on 18 October 2025 at the Philippine National Stand. The book – made possible through the support of Ateneo de Manila University´s Institute of Philippine Culture (IPC), the Office of Senator Loren Legarda, and the Philippine Embassy in Portugal – which offers a personal reflection on Dr. José Rizal´s Noli Me Tángere, is Dr. Coo´s important contribution to Philippine scholarship and cultural heritage.
