Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talk

Description

This seminar aims at discussing the challenges in reconstructing spaces for the display and understanding of objects in the collections of heritage sites. Departing from the case of a 16th-century celestial globe made by Christoph Schissler in the National Palace of Sintra, the talk will discuss the existence of cabinets of curiosity in Portugal, as well as how the approach to early modern scientific objects can benefit from the history of consumption and luxury.
