The Second Congress of the International Group For Studies of Colonial Periodical Press (IGSCP-PE), connected the bicentenaries of the First Portuguese Constitution, of tthe Independence of Brazil and of the birth of Colonial press in the Portuguese Empire. Commemorating these centenaries, with this event, the IGSCP-PE intended to establish a bridge between the liberal debate in the press, in its various ramifications across the empire, and the representation of liberalism today. The event was supported by several institutions and projects that participate in the Group of Studies.
