Premodern Diplomats Network (External organisation)

Description

The Premodern Diplomats Network is an international network of scholars and researchers on the subject of diplomacy and the social and cultural history and development of diplomacy and its surrounding issues.

It originated from Dr. Bobby Anderson’s (Bath Spa University, UK) and Dr. Anna Kalinowska’s (Polish Academy of Sciences, Poland) shared research interests in these areas of study and an acknowledgment by attendees that the interest in the Splendid Encounters conferences was attracting increasing interest, and that there was a demand for an organisation that would facilitate ongoing involvement in and fostering of research and publication in this growing field of interest.

Today, the Network, has approximately 200 members and that number is growing all the time. International conferences are directed in the UK by Dr. Anderson and in Poland by Dr. Kalinowska in co-operation with members of the Network. Our peer-reviewed online journal, Legatio, is maintained by the Polish Academy of Sciences’ Tadeusz Manteuffel Institute of History, Warsaw.
