“Kant and the ‘true shame instinct’: paradoxical conclusions from Observations on the feeling of the Beautiful and Sublime and Herder’s lecture notes on Moral Philosophy”

Activity: Talk or presentationOral presentation

Kant’s practical philosophy develops a new and complex conception of norms and normativity. This is an essential topic, not only of the Kantian moral and legal philosophy, but also of contemporary philosophy, either in ethics, or politics and law. This conference aims to explore some aspects of the actual discussion on these issues. Problems and perspectives of Kantian philosophy will be revisited, as well as different conceptions about the nature and ground of norms and values.
