Description
This workshop will explore how to encourage young children to audiate or engage in musical thinking. First children listen, then they respond, imitate, and eventually become assimilated into their musical cultures and learn to "think in music." This process of musical development is described by Edwin E. Gordon in his theory of Preparatory Audiation. Participants in this workshop will learn more about Gordon's theory of Preparatory Audiation and will explore and engage in practical ideas for guiding and facilitating the development of musical thinking in all children.
