During this workshop, participants will discover picturebooks which provide opportunities to bring values education into the primary English classroom as well as experience several picturebook read-alouds. At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to: o Recognize what to look for in a picturebook to support values education. o Distinguish between a picturebook and a graded reader. o Name the different parts of a picturebook. o Identify a set of read-aloud strategies and expressive techniques.
