During the archaeological salvage works of 1991 in Rua dos Correeiros (downtown Lisbon), two sealed contexts rich in pottery were excavated. Part of the set of local/regional coarse wares was was already published by the works director, Dias Diogo, one attributed to 1531 earthquake and the other attributed to the 1755 catastrophe.
The authors revise the published set and complete it with the remaining pottery finds, wich includes not only coarse wares but also glazed imports from Valencia and Seville that allows to date the first contexts from a much earlier date, of late 14th century-1st half of the 15th century AD, and a significant set of Portuguese Faience that allows dating the second context from a much earlier date, of early 18th century.
