Description
SCOPE OF THE CONFERENCE:The scope of the conference is to promote a multidisciplinary event from which scientific cooperation among Portuguese and foreign researchers, universities and research centers may ensue. The ultimate aim is to offer the opportunity for participants to gather, to present, and to debate their recent and/or ongoing results concerning the topic of colonialism and decolonization with a view to inspire new sources of reflection on Portuguese history and culture in 19th and 20th centuries, both at home and abroad, from the standpoint of the empire. There is also the intention to draw the interest and involvement of members of the civil society and of the military institution in order to enrich the Conference workings.
