Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talk

Description

Excavated in 1912 by the Harvard University-Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition, the mastaba (or tomb) of Akhmeretnisut is a truly exceptional monument. This lecture will present the most recent research conducted on the mastaba of Akhmeretnisut, part of which is housed in the Museum of Fine Arts, and discuss how the unparalleled architecture and decoration of this tomb raise important questions about the ancient Egyptian elite of the Old Kingdom (c. 2686-2160 BC).
