Description
In the past two decades the ACM in Singapore has acquired several lacquered Luso-Asian objects. Among them a richly decorated Catholic shrine of outstanding size decorated with the emblem of the Order of St. Augustine. In the scope of the fellowship this shrine has been studied and its lacquer coating analyzed in collaboration with the conservator Birte Koehler and conservation scientist Lynn Chua at the Heritage Conservation Center in Singapore. Further, other Luso-Asian liturgical or Christian objects have been examined and contextualized. The results were presented in a public lecture at the museum and in a research essay.Period | 1 Nov 2022 → 28 Feb 2023 |
