The notion of aesthetic experience tries to account for a relevant part of human experience, revealing itself central and decisive for an entire philosophical discipline: Aesthetics. Although this is not to be confused with the Philosophy of Art, these disciplines intersect in a relevant way precisely concerning the question of aesthetic experience, which can happen both in front of artistic objects and in the context of everyday life. In this module, we will explore these questions from different artistic and practical contexts: from literature (essay and biography in Maggie Nelson), from dance (in the poetics of Paul Valéry), from music and sound arts (in the contemporary practices of 'sound art') and photography (as a technique, art and motive of thought).
