Description
The Center for Oceans Law and Policy (COLP), University of Virginia School of Law, the World Maritime University–Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute, and The Nippon Foundation are the primary co-sponsors of the 43rd COLP Annual Conference to be held at the World Maritime University in Malmö, Sweden, from 14-17 May 2019. The conference title is Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction: Intractable Challenges & Potential Solutions and the event features many of the world's leading experts on their topics. The conference will discuss the development of an internationally legally binding instrument under UNCLOS on the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction (BBNJ).
